Description
compressed globular-form body with large figural double handles depicting Roman wine god Bacchus with Vintage foliage ornamentation, paneled pedestal supported by an octagonal-form base supported by four figural heads, possibly depicting a wine god, cover with removable top finial, brass figural spigot depicting a bird figure and fish handle, interior fitted with a conical-form heat tube and a grill at the base, underside of base with a hinged cast-iron door for removing ash. 19th century. 19" HOA, 11 1/2" WOA, 8 1/2" SQ base.
Provenance: The collection of John Clayton.
Condition
Very good overall condition, expected wear and some light denting.
