Description
Avalokitesvara is depicted in the centre seated in dhyanasana on a rocky outcrop, both hands holding a fan decorated with waves crashing on rocks. The deity wears an elaborate crown decorated with flaming jewels, long robes finely decorated, and intricately depicted jewellery. All set before a circular mandala and cloud scrolls beneath a floating canopy decorated with further flaming jewels. The upper corner of the painting is inscribed "namo puyan pusa" ("Ode to Puyan Boddhisattva"). 97 by 170 cm.Framed.
