LARGE SINO-TIBETAN PARTIAL-GILT BRONZE FIGURE OF BUDDHA, EARLY 20TH CENTURY ;
Seated in VAJRASANA on a lotus throne, left hand held up with palm open in front of the waist, right hand in BHUMISPARSA (calling the earth to witness the truth), wearing crisply draped robes with scrolls, foliage borders, conical headdress and elongated earlobes, marked on the base with high Lama consecrated wax seal mark in Tibetan, early 20th century or earlier (circa 1900's and belonged to a Vajrayana Buddhist monastery); H: 41 cm, W: 24 cm, 5 kg

Remarks: The face of this Buddha is an example of early Buddhist artistic workmanship and is priceless. His facial expression says it all and represents his traits - fully awakened, knowledgeable of the worlds, wise, gentle, peaceful and joyful.
