Imposing French Gilt-Bronze-Mounted Bleu du Roi-Ground Porcelain Vase, fourth quarter 19th century, in the Louis XVI Sevres style, one facade with a large polychromed reserve of "Whisperings of Love", signed L. Fournier, lower left, the opposing facade with a polychromed reserve of "The Winter of Love", the gilt-bronze handles modeled as flower-bedecked female masques, the whole supported on toupie feet, the interior of the circular foot marked with blue overglaze pseudo-Sevres interlaces L's, h. 17", w. 16-1/4".
In overall very good original condition. Rubbed and flaked loss to gilt edges of polychrome reserves. Both reserves with a series of short, faint and shallow surface scratches to polychrome surface. Scattered, minor rubbed gilt loss along the knop, socle and foot of socle. All gilt bronze surfaces oxidized. Well cast with good detailing.
