Description
Mark of Thomas Whipham and Charles Wright, London, 1761, inverted pair-form samovar with gadroon trim, the interior with coal/iron chimney, double side lift handles, spigot with ivory turn handle, detached cover and tongs, centered with engraved armorial crest, square ebony pedestal base with tray and candle slide, raised on ball and claw feet, 23 1/2 in. total height, 104.30 ozt. (without base); Provenance states the coat of arms is possibly that of the Lely family.
Condition
Good condition. Removable stand may have been added later on. The stand is not hallmarked and appears to be in good condition. Base of coil is hallmarked.
