Very Rare Georgia Civil War Confederate Kepi Cap
c. 1860-1880's Civil War Era, Rare Georgia Confederate Kepi Cap, with brass "Georgia State Seal" buttons, Fine.
This extremely rare Civil War Era Georgia Confederate Kepi Cap measures about 7.5" x 5.5". A nice example with faded blue cloth (denim?), black leather brim, chin strap missing, brass "Georgia State Seal" buttons, sewn-in lining with minor losses. The sweatband's stitching has come apart as well as sections of the stitching that holds the visor in place (some old stitching restoration). Minor moth damage. No visible makers mark. It is possible that this kepi is original to the Civil War period, as well as made for a Post-war Georgia Confederate Veterans reunion. Regardless, a very rare item.
